2024 Kia Sonet Facelift Debuts with ADAS level 1 and New Segment First Features

After a lengthy wait, South Korean automaker Kia has finally unveiled the new facelift edition of their iconic and cheapest SUV Kia Sonet in the Indian market. Kia India made the global debut of an SUV on Indian soil for the third time.

The 2024 Kia Sonet Facelift includes numerous fantastic and innovative features that set it apart from the competition in the SUV segment. So, let us see how the new Kia Sonet is –

Look and Design:

When it comes to the new Kia Sonet’s appearance and design, it is very similar to the current model. The most noticeable difference is the bigger LED headlamps and daytime running lights (DRLs).

Aside from that, the front bumper and skid plates have been modified, and horizontally mounted LED fog lights have been added. It comes with 16-inch newly designed alloy wheels from the manufacturer.

A huge LED rear lightbar is placed at the rear of the SUV, connecting both of the SUV’s C-shaped taillights. Aside from that, the rear bumper and roof-mounted spoiler have been redesigned. The Tech-Line, as before, has gotten a slightly better treatment than the GT and X-Line.

In other ways, this SUV resembles the preceding model. The Sonet makeover is available in eight monotone, two dual-tone, and one matte finish paint tones, while the Seltos is available in Pewter Olive.

Interior and Features:

The 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster is the most noticeable modification in the cabin of the Kia Sonet. The identical cluster has also been placed in the larger Seltos variant.

Aside from the 10.25″ touchscreen infotainment system, a tiny screen is available that displays information such as climate control. This SUV has also received new upholstery and seats from the manufacturer.

ADAS Level-1

This SUV includes a Level-1 Advanced Driving Assistance System (ADAS), which is also available in the Hyundai Venue. Forward Collision Warning, Lane Departure Warning, Collision Avoidance Assistance, High-beam Assist, and Lane Keep Assist are among the functions included in the ADAS features bundle.

Tremendous Safety:

This SUV has been significantly improved in terms of safety. According to the manufacturer, this is one of the safest SUV vehicles on Indian roads. The firm has fitted six airbags as standard in this model. In addition, hill-start aid, tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS) and electronic stability control (ESC) are offered.

In addition, the manufacturer has included equipment such as a cornering lamp, a four-way motorised driver seat, a 360-degree camera, and a blind-view mirror in its higher variations. This SUV also boasts cooled front seats, leather upholstery, a BOSE audio system, a sunroof, and LED ambient lighting. As a result, this SUV is entirely feature-rich.

Engine and Performance:

The engine mechanism of the new Sonet facelift has not been altered by the firm. It was once again available with three distinct engine options. Its 1.2-liter, 4-cylinder petrol engine produces 83hp and is exclusively available with a 5-speed manual gearbox.

A 1.0 litre, three-cylinder turbo-petrol engine with 120 horsepower is offered as a second choice, while a 1.5 litre four-cylinder diesel engine with 116 horsepower is available as a third option.

The turbo-petrol and diesel engines are paired with 6-speed manual or iMT transmissions. Aside from that, both of these engines have a 7-speed dual clutch and a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox.

Variants

The new Kia Sonet will be available in Tech Line, GT Line and X-Line trim levels, like previously. Which are available in a variety of trims. The 1.2-litre petrol engine will be available on HTE, HTK, and HTK+ trims, while the 1.0-turbo-petrol and 1.5-diesel engines will be accessible on all three trim levels.

Price and Booking:

Kia Sonet pricing have not yet been revealed by the firm; they will be announced next year, in January. However, booking will begin on December 20th.
