Gossip surrounding Govinda and Sunita Ahuja’s split swept across social media platforms, with sources indicating that the couple was breaking up after being married for 37 years. But the *Hero No. 1* actor has finally spoken out.
Shooting down the rumors, Govinda informed *ETimes*, “These are just business discussions happening… I am in the process of launching my films.” His manager Sashi Sinha also spoke about it, stating, “There were some problems between the couple because of some statements made by some family members, but there is nothing more to it. Govinda is busy launching a new film, and we are trying to sort things out.”
Last month, Sunita Ahuja had asserted that she and Govinda lived separately but it was a matter of convenience, she clarified. In an interview with *Pinkvilla Hindi Rush*, she said, “We have two houses—an apartment and a bungalow opposite to it. My children and I stay in the apartment because that‘s where my temple is.“. Govinda likes it in the bungalow as he ends up having late-night meetings and enjoys having long discussions with individuals. He likes mingling, whereas my children and I like a more low-key life.
In another interview with *Hindustan Times*, Sunita spoke about her earlier days of battling gossip surrounding Govinda‘s claimed hookups. “I had to thicken my skin because there were always rumors of him being linked with some or the other person.“. But as he was always busy shooting different movies, he never really had the opportunity for an affair,” she revealed. Still, she did concede to being somewhat worried now. “He hasn’t been working for the past two years, so yes, I am concerned. People do get restless once they hit 60,” she joked. Though their relationship may have been through highs and lows, Govinda and Sunita‘s long time relationship remains a topic of interest.
