Farm Laws update: Addressing the nation, PM Modi made a big announcement at 9 am on Friday. On the occasion of Guru Nanak Jayanti, the Prime Minister said that his government is withdrawing all three Farm laws.

These are the same Farm laws that farmers across the country have been agitating since last year, demanding their withdrawal, and had even reached the Supreme Court to get their point of view. PM Modi appealed to the farmers that now they should return to their homes, and go to the fields.

The PM said “We had brought these three Farm laws with good intentions, but we have failed to convince the farmers. A section of them has been opposing the laws. We tried to educate and inform them too but failed.

We tried our best to convince the farmers. We were also ready to modify or suspend the laws. The matter even reached the Supreme Court. Given this, we are repealing all three farm laws. We appeal to the farmers to return to their homes, and go to their fields, on this auspicious day of Guru Purab.”
