Ducati DesertX Rally: Ducati India has unleashed its off-road prowess by launching the highly anticipated DesertX Rally motorcycle in the Indian market. Priced at a staggering Rs 23.70 lakh (ex-showroom), this motorcycle promises to be the most sophisticated off-road machine that Ducati has ever offered in India.
The DesertX Rally shares its DNA with the standard version of the motorcycle but boasts several enhancements, both aesthetically and in terms of hardware. Ducati has adorned the bike with a distinctive livery, designed specifically to celebrate its heritage and rally fame.
These graphics pay homage to the bike’s participation in prestigious rallies worldwide, including the recently concluded Erzberg Rodeo 2023, where it represented the brand.
Aggressive Styling and Advanced Features
The front fascia of the DesertX Rally commands attention with its twin-circular LED headlamp design and a long beak that complements its overall aggressive look. Ducati has ensured the rider’s comfort by equipping the bike with six distinct riding modes: Sport, Touring, Urban, Wet, Enduro, and Rally.
Additionally, advanced safety features such as Cornering ABS, Ducati Traction Control (DTC), and Ducati Wheelie Control (DWC) provide confidence and control in various riding conditions.
The 5-inch colour TFT screen features the Ducati Multimedia System, enabling seamless smartphone connectivity for music control, call management, and optional turn-by-turn navigation.
Built for Off-Road Domination
Ducati has designed the DesertX Rally to excel in off-road conditions. The bike boasts a 21-inch front wheel and an 18-inch rear wheel, supported by a KYB upside-down fork at the front with 250 mm travel and a mono-shock at the rear with 240 mm travel. Ohlins steering dampers fixed on the bar further enhance the bike’s off-road capabilities.
Powertrain and Performance
At the heart of the DesertX Rally lies a potent 937 cc, L-twin, liquid-cooled engine that generates an impressive 108 bhp of power and 92 Nm of peak torque at 6,500 rpm. This powerplant is housed within a tubular steel trellis frame, ensuring optimal weight distribution and handling characteristics.
